After much deliberation and input from all members of our Consortium's Communication Working Group and Executive Steering Committee, the Consortium is proud to present THE new Biomedical Diversity Program Consortium Logo. Going forward, this logo should be used on all relevant correspondence within the Consortium and also in correspondence with our various partners for branding purposes.
What are we doing with that logo again?
This logo should be adopted by sites to be included on posters, presentations, marketting materials, and other Consortium funded items. This is our logo to ensure we "stamp" all this Initiative's supported materials.
Is the DPC logo supposed to replace our own logo?
Not at all. This is meant to be an added logo to more easily identify DPC items and/or affiliation.
What's "DPC", again? See our Acronyms tab on the Intranet ;)
** When will this be final? **
This IS the final image for the logo. However, the CEC has received interest from sites including the NIH to select a font that is agreeable to all and potentially to add a "tagline" at the bottom. Our sources say there's a proposal for using something similar to the Consortium's Arc of Success, like ... "Enhancing the diversity of the U.S. biomedical "Think Force" to improve the nation's Health". If you have any proposals see your site's Communication Specialist (Communication Working Group representative) so those are refined and communicated.
***This is a clarification and update to the earlier version of this logo announcement***
The name of the Diversity Program Consortium and the statement “Supported by the National Institutes of Health” must be a part of the logo. This text (although not the font) has been approved by the NIGMS Office of Communications and Public Liaison (OCPL), and is a required part of the logo from NIH. The choice of the image continues to be determined by Consortium, but in order to comply with NIGMS OCPL guidelines that all programs, partnerships, consortiums, cooperative agreements, etc. follow, this statement of support must be included. This guideline is in place to help build consistency and clarity across different NIH-funded and supported programs. For specific questions on this please contact Christa Reynolds at christa.reynolds@nih.gov and CC Nancy. We are still in the process of gaining clarification on the next step to finalize the logo text. Stay tuned and speak with your Communications Working Group representative if you have any suggestions!
